Sarà TIM il primo operatore italiano a supportare i PC sempre connessi in LTE con Snapdragon 835

Lo scorso mese di dicembre, Qualcomm ha finalmente alzato il sipario sui primi PC Windows 10 portatili dotati di SoC Snapdragon 835, in collaborazione con ASUS, HP e diversi altri produttori che non vedono l'ora di lanciarsi in un nuovo mercato tutto da esplorare. Nuovo sia per le potenzialità di autonomia che questi PC saranno in grado di esprimere – si parla di almeno il doppio rispetto agli ultrabook tradizionali – sia soprattutto per la connettività LTE integrata, che li renderà sempre e ovunque connessi ad internet.

Qualcomm e i produttori sono quindi al lavoro per mettere a disposizione degli utenti delle macchine in grado di cambiare il modo di pensare i notebook, tuttavia rimaneva il punto interrogativo su quali operatori avrebbero supportato da subito la rivoluzione, specialmente da noi in Italia. L'ultimo annuncio di Qualcomm ha fugato anche questo dubbio: in Italia, sarà TIM il primo operatore telefonico che offrirà il pieno supporto ai nuovi PC sempre connessi, capaci potenzialmente del Gigabit LTE.

Al momento non si conoscono ancora dettagli sui costi delle offerte TIM legate alle SIM da inserire nelle nuove macchine, dal momento che non sono ancora state lanciate sul mercato, tuttavia è senza dubbio un'ottima notizia che anche da noi sia già tutto pronto. Gli altri operatori che saranno partner della prima ora di Qualcomm sono China Telecom (Cina), EE (Regno Unito), Sprint e Verizon (USA). Nel frattempo anche Lenovo ha presentato un suo notebook con chip Qualcomm, mentre nella seconda parte dell'anno partirà l'ondata di PC con Snapdragon 845. Ne vedremo delle belle.

(NASDAQ:MSFT), today announced that leading mobile operators from around the world will support the Always Connected PC category, bringing easy and affordable connectivity plans to consumers on advanced LTE wireless networks.

Select operators in some countries will also stock Always Connected PCs in their owned retail locations. Three new Windows 10 devices powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Mobile PC platform from OEM brands Asus, HP and Lenovo will utilize mobile operators’ blazing fast LTE networks, supporting mobile computing virtually anytime, anywhere.

This announcement comes on the heels of the second annual Snapdragon Technology Summit in December where the first Windows on Snapdragon device, the 2-in-1 convertible ASUS NovaGo was announced which is expected to be available early this year, and a detachable HP ENVY x2 Windows on Snapdragon Mobile PC, release date to be determined.

Today at CES, Lenovo announced the details of their new Always Connected PC the Miix 630 featuring the Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform and Windows 10 S for a secure, streamlined experience.
