Ufficializzato ad IFA 2016 il visore StarVR di Acer e Starbreeze
Acer e Starbreeze (Acer Starbreeze Corporation) hanno annunciato ad IFA 2016 l'avvio delle consegne degli StarVR Virtual Reality (VR) Head-Mounted Displays (HMD) ad IMAX Corporation, in occasione dell'apertura dell'IMAX VR Center di Los Angeles prevista per la fine dell'anno.
La collaborazione, a detta delle aziende, è stata praticamente scontata, considerato l'ormai labile divario tra videogiochi, obiettivo iniziale della realtà virtuale, e film. I gruppi coinvolti, inoltre, sembrano davvero soddisfatti dei risultati, in particolare relativi alle nuove sale cinematografiche in realtà virtuale che dovrebbero presto diffondersi in centri commerciali e speciali location.
Caratteristiche tecniche
Il tratto distintivo di questo visore per la realtà virtuale, rispetto ai concorrenti, risiede nell’ampio angolo di visuale: ben 210°, laddove gli altri visori solitamente si fermano a 110°; si tratta, in pratica, di quasi tutto il campo visivo dell’occhio umano.
Uscita e prezzo
La produzione e successiva commercializzazione di massa dei nuovi dispositivi, definiti premium, dovrebbe iniziare nel 2017. Ovviamente, non mancheremo di aggiornarvi qualora vi fossero novità relative ad uscita e prezzo sul nostro territorio.
