Anche Square Enix starebbe pensando ad un suo piano in abbonamento

Ubisoft ha appena rivelato Uplay+ e Microsoft ha presentato Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Ma non sono gli unici: anche Square Enix starebbe pensando di lanciare un suo servizio in abbonamento per i propri videogiochi.

La notizia non coglie nessuno di sorpresa: già alcuni suoi giochi saranno disponibili su Stadia, e proprio sulla stessa Stadia i produttori potranno proporre i propri abbonamenti.

In realtà niente è ancora stato deciso: secondo il presidente di Square Enix, Yosuke Matsuda, la compagnia starebbe esplorando le varie possibilità. D'altronde fornire un servizio del genere non è semplice: bisogna fare degli investimenti consistenti e creare un sistema affidabile.

We are exploring at present both possibilities. And we do already provide games for Microsoft's game pass. But at the end of the day, the direction that we're thinking about is having a channel of our own... But at the same time that would require significant preparations and investment. We'd also have to consider whether or not it will work well solely including our own catalog titles. At present, as I say, we are offering our games on multiple subscription services, including Microsoft's. But eventually, I do think that we need to get to the point where we have enough insight that we can build our own service
